Having worked within the Funeral Industry, Kevin Rayner the Managing Director of KPRayner Ltd recognised the requirement for computerised engraving solutions within this busy sector. After conducting some research, he launched KP Rayner Ltd and became the only supplier of Roland engraving machines to funeral directors in the UK.

“Roland engraving machines are computerised engraving solutions, which reduce wastage associated with manual engraving, while cutting down the time to engrave, giving you more time to focus on customer care and other parts of the business,” Kevin explains.

“The machines are designed with the end user in mind, making them fast and easy to use. Unlike traditional pantographs, Roland engraving machines have very little manual input, with funeral plates and coffin plates typically set up in less than five minutes.”

The Roland engraving machines, which can be bought or leased from KP Rayner, can engrave a wide range of materials including brass and wood and can engrave multiple funeral plates and coffin plates in one go. The company can also supply a range of brass plaques, wooden crosses, grave markers and funeral plates and coffin plates in a variety of sizes and styles to be used with the machines.

Having also recognised the modern trend of personalised keepsakes, KP Rayner has this summer launched a new service, offering the opportunity to have words or photographs engraved onto keyrings, photo frames, jewellery and trinket boxes.

“We decided to launch this service at the National Funeral Exhibition in Coventry in June to see what reaction it would attract; the feedback was great,” says Kevin. “This is a really exciting project. We’ve been researching the history of keepsakes and remembrance items, so popular during Victorian times and now making a comeback. They’re something very personal to remember a loved one by and can be of great comfort to bereaved families. The results are beautiful.”
